Do you want to complete Ironman Durban 70.3? 

On the 7th of June, hundreds of triathletes will be lining up to complete the half Ironman in Durban. Sign up for our training plan, and you will get all the guidance, coaching and the training plan you need to complete the race. 

A quick summary of what you can sign up for...

  1. A training program that is divided into 4 different phases.
  2. After each phase you get tested and placed into one of three categories before starting the next phase.
  3. 3 x training camp-days with coach Magda during phases 2-4.
  4. Pre-race dinner - to talk through the dos and don'ts.
  5. Access to the Trivium gazebo at races.
  6. Access to Trivium's run and bike group sessions, and from phase 2 onwards, access to swim group sessions​.

Here are the details:

Phase 1  - Start 13 or 20 January

Intro to training of the three different disciplines.
During this phase you will do short training sessions to get your body into the new training regime. Your body will adapt quickly to start muscle- and nervous system activation. ​

Testing Week  -  3 February

Phase 2

6 Weeks training program. During this phase you will focus to develop power on the bike and aerobic fitness for running and swimming. 

Camp day 1   -  7 March

Open Water Swim @ Cradlemoon
​Coach Magda will teach you all you need to know about open water swimming. How to sight, how to warm-up and how to not panic. You will also receive guidance on selecting the correct wetsuit size, partnering with the best brand - Orca South Africa.

Testing Week  -  16 March

Phase 3

6 weeks training program. During this phase you will do brick sessions - these are bike sessions directly followed by a running session, or bike sessions directly after a swimming session. Your body will learn how to transition between the disciplines. You will also prepare for a triathlon race.

Camp day 2  -  1 May

Transition
Coach Magda will teach you what you need to know on how to handle the transition during racing, what to pack and how to organise and prepare yourself.

Sun City Ultra Race

You will compete in the Sprint Race (short version) on 3 May.

Camp day 3   - 7 May

Nutrition talk

​Coach Magda will discuss with you the importance of race nutrition and how to go about it. Also on how to incorporate the nutrition during your training for the last phase.

Phase 4

5 weeks to IRONMAN 70.3 Durban

​This is the final preperation phase and will round you off to race the half Ironman. This is where everything comes together - creating race-ready, confident athletes.
